Habana is Happening!

Habana Outpost
757 Fulton Street

Our favorite family hang is finally open! The crowds were there and Habana was ready on opening day with the most interesting vendors teaching about all kinds of recycling and environmental awareness. But that's not the only big thing going on at Habana Outpost. On Saturday, May 12th Habana Outpost will have their famous block party that officially marks the opening of the Kids Corner. Not sure what that is? The Kids Corner is a part of Habana's non-profit, Habana Works, that offers free activities for kids all season long. Contact me if you have ideas or suggestions for kids activities at Habana.

painting faces!

Face Painting
Check out the super fly face paint my daughter has in the picture above. This was done at one of the Still Hip block parties a few years back by my favorite facepainter of all time, Candice Crawford. If you are interested in having her come to your party or event let me know and we can work out the details. If you want to check her out in person, come by the Go Green! Greenpoint Earthday Festival on Saturday, May 5th. If you are interested in booking Candice for a party just send me an email or give me a call.

How about some drama for your litte drama queen (or king)?

Camp Time!
Child's Play Summer
ages 3-5

August 6-31
South Oxford Space

I met this super cool lady who started this great drama program for kids called Child's Play. She told me she was working on a camp for my hood, Clinton Hill (It's actually in Fort Greene, but close enough to walk). I was psyched and agreed to help spread the word. Child’s Play NY is a theater program where kids exercise their dramatic imaginations in classes led by professional performers. It pretty much helps kids do what they do best because we know they are all drama queens (and kings) at heart.
